Enjoy the Internet just that much more...

The internet kicks major ass as it is, right?

Well allow me to show you how a few simple downloads can enhance your web surfing exponentially.

First download Firefox. Firefox is an open source web browser, which basically means its a program created by the masses. It is fully customizable, which brings us to step two...

The very cool thing about Firefox is it's ability to handle "extensions" or plug-in's.
Here are a few of my favorite...

FoxyTunes - This little add on allows to control popular music players like ITunes, WinAmp, Windows Media Player and tens more, all with in your internet browser.

Map+ - Map+ adds an option in your right-click menu that allows you Yahoo!map any address on any web page.

Forecastfox - This embeds a little 3 day forecast into your browser, powered by Weather.com.

StudioLD's FaceLift Skin - I stumbled on this powerful add on just the other day. It automatically logs you into Facebook (no need to log in every time you go there), allows you to see full profile pics even if you aren't friends with the person (stockerish, I know), Auto-pokes, and enhanced photo-albums (flash enabled, no need to load the page every time you see a new pic).

Video Ook! - This app lets you download any video on Youtube or Google Video to your computer (In a later post I will show you how to import these videos onto your Video Ipod).

and lastly

Greasemonkey - Greasemonkey is basically a developer tool that user Javascript to change the content of a web page, basically it can do alot of cool stuff. After you install Greasemonkey, head over to their Scripts Page and install away. My favorite Script is the Automatic Myspace Media Remover and it does just that. No more automaticly playing Miniplayers, and it closes all embedded YouTube and Google Videos, cleaning up some pages very nicely.

Hope some of this helps you navigate the world wibe web jsut that much better.
